Born in Calvia, Mallorca, Mar Aguiló began her ballet studies at the Mª Antonia Mas dance studio. There, she combined dance with rhythmic gymnastics, winning four individual and team titles with groups from Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. In 2002, she was semi-finalist in the Zaragoza International Dance awards, going a step further the following year, winning first prize and a scholarship at the American Academy Awards. In 2002 she joined the Ballet Jove Mallorca Company, moving three years later in 2005 to the Ecole-Atelier Rudra Béjart, under the direction of Michel Gascard, also performing on a number of occasions with the Ballet Béjart from Lausanne. She joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza in September 2007.
Since joining this company she has performed leading roles in several ballets, such as William Forsythe's Artifact 2, Cor Perdut and Arcangelo by Nacho Duato and Romeo and Juliet (Lady Capulet) by Goyo Montero. She has also been part of the cast in the ballets of renowned choreographers such as Mats Ek, Johan Inger, Marcos Morau, Ivan Perez, Alexander Ekman, Angels Margarit, Tony Fabre, Gentian Doda and Ohad Naharin, among others.
