Joaquín Crespo

Born in Argentina, he started his ballet studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. In 1997 he wins the goleen medals of the Mercosur Dance Competition of Brasil and of the Argentinian Asociation Art and Culture and in 1998 of the Internacional Ballet Competition of Uruguay. In 2002 he wins the Prize to Young Talent of Perm, Rusia and the silver medal of the International Ballet Competition in Praga. In 2003 he obtained the Elena Smirnova Prize at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires. That same year, he joined the Hamburg Ballet under the direction of John Neumeier. En 2005 joins Compañía Nacional de Danza 2, where he stays for two years, alter which he moves to Philadelphia to form part of Pennsylvania Ballet, under Roy Kaiser’s direction.
From September 2008 he starts dancing for Compañía Nacional de Danza,under the artistic direction of Nacho Duato.
