Sara Fernández López was born in Almería, beginning her ballet studies at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Madrid. Throughout her training she has worked with teachers such as Francesc Bravo, Keith Morino, Marilyn Mónaco, Julia Estévez, Eduardo Lao, Carmen París, Sabîne Dahrendors, Víctor Ullate, Thérèse Lorenzo, Carlos Valcárcel, Irena Milovan and Monique Loudière.
In 2006 she as awarded the 1st and 3rd Prizes at the Maratón de Danza de Madrid for her dance pieces ¿Por Qué No? [“Why Not?”] by Ángel Blanco and Alrededor No Hay Nada [“Around Us There Is Nothing”] by Goyo Montero. This same year she also worked with Europa Danse, taking part in a number of European tours and performing pieces by renowned choreographers such as Kylián, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Alicia Alonso and Thierry Malandin. In January 2007 she joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza 2. In September 2010 he joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza.
