International Dance Day 2021

#InternationalDanceDay

“Everything starts with movement – an instinct we all have – and dance is movement refined to communicate. Much as flawless technique is important and impressive, it is ultimately what the dancer expresses inside the movement that is the essence..”

That is the opening of the message for the International Dance Day 2021, written by Friedemann VOGEL.

Today is our day, the day of those wholove and share the art of dance.

Unitedin this video by the INAEM (National Institute of the Performing Arts and Music, Spain) the Compañía Nacional de Danza Spain and the Spanish National Balletgather to celebrate the Spanish folkloric dance, the classical ballet and the contemporary language that merge into a hopeful and trustworthy message.

Even though last year we celebrated this 29th of April, International Dance Day, by dancing in an unexpected lockdown, today we dance happy and secure in the streets and on stages.

Our Company is going to celebrate today’s event with a great show in Alcobendas (tickets sold out). A 100% Spanish programme designed by our director Joaquín De Luz, composed of Remansos and White Darkness by Nacho Duato, and In Paradisumby Antonio Ruz.

At 20:35h CET we live streamed a short audience from the Teatro Auditorio Ciudad de Alcobendas through out Facebook and Instagram accounts. We will be joined by Nacho Duato, Joaquín De Luz andAntonio Ruz, who answered a selection of questions we have received throughout this week.

And because movement can only be shown by dance… we still got a lot more dancing for you all!

Happy International Dance Day!
