DECEMBER 6th to 18th 2016
Program:
DON QUIXOTE
José Carlos Martínez

More than twenty five years have passed since a classical full-length ballet was danced by CND. On December 16th 2015 Compañía Nacional de Danza staged for the first time Don Quixote ballet, choreographed by José Carlos Martínez, with Ludwig Minkus´ music, settings by Raúl García Guerrero and Carmen Granell´s costumes. A historical premiere that brought back academic ballet to the repertoire of the Compañía Nacional de Danza in order to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the publication of the second part of the text of Cervantes. The Quixote of Martínez left to the public and critics wanting more (many fans from Madrid were unable to enjoy the work to hang up the poster of no tickets recently released). Our hero has travelled with the CND to the best national stages (Palau de les Arts, Valencia; Teatro Romea, Murcia; Teatro Arriaga, Bilbao; Teatre Auditori, Sant Cugat, Jardines del Generalife, Granada, Teatro Calderón, Valladolid…), cramming theaters and receiving the best reviews. He will soon pack to cross our borders and contribute even more to the indelible mark left by Cervantes in the universal culture.

Quiteria and Basilio parts will be played by:

Casa / Anthony Pina (6th & 9th)
Haruhi Otani / Esteban Berlanga (7th & 11th)
Alina Cojocaru** / Alessandro Riga (8th & 10th)
Cristina Casa / Yanier Gomez (días 13th & 15th)
Yae Gee Park / Alessandro Riga (14th & 16th)
Yolanda Correa** / Moisés Martín Cintas (17th & 18th)
