“It’s no use crying / it’s no use dying / the desire is stronger / he follows the path alone”, laments the impressive voice of María del Mar Bonet, whose power of suggestion over Duato (who created Cor perdut as a gift birthday to the Majorcan singer), seems incontestable after Jardí tancat (1983) and Arenal (1988), two of the Valencian’s most brilliant choreographies, both based on music by this performer. To the syncopated and hypnotic rhythm of the Tunisian percussions, the two dancers recreate the dynamic and expressive body language of this choreographer with the same sorrowful fluidity transmitted by the voice of María del Mar Bonet.
