Haruhi Otani

Soloist dancer


Born in Japan, 1996. In 2010 she began her training as a professional ballerina at the Sasaki Mika Ballet Academy in Kanagawa.

She has won several awards at international contests. In 2012 she won the Bronze Slipper at the Le Chausson D’Or International Classical Dance Contest (France), in 2014 she won first prize at the Kobe Dance Contest (Japan) and made it to the semi-finals at the Prix de Lausanne Contest (Switzerland). In July 2014 she won the Grand Prix at the International Ballet Contest in Tokyo, being rewarded with three months at the National Dance Company in Spain.

During this period she danced solo roles in Delibes Suite, Quixote Suite and Raymonda Divertimento, by José Carlos Martínez. She got invited to dance in many galas all over the world included “Roberto Bolle and friends gala” (2018). Also she got introduced in the magazine of GQ Spain and Shiseido as an artist.

In September 2015 she joined the National Dance Company, directed by José Carlos Martínez (in that time). In September 2018 she was promoted to soloist under the artistic direction of José Carlos Martínez. She danced Sugar plum Fairy: The Nutcracker, Kitri: Don Quixote by José Carlos Martínez, Artifact by WIlliam Forsythe, The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude by William Forsythe, Delibes Suite by José Carlos Martínez, La favorita by José Carlos Martínez, Black Swan pas de deux: Swan Lake, Le corsaire pas de deux: Le Corsaire… (Under the direction of José Carlos Martínez) And also she danced Love Fear Loss by Ricardo Amarante, Arriaga by Joaquín de Luz, Pino Alosa and Mar Aguiló, Flower Festival in Genzano by August Bournville… (Under the direction of Joaquín De Luz).
