Agnès López Río Biography


CND Corps de Ballet. Agnés López RíoShe was born in Valencia, where she began her dance studies at the Professional Conservatory of Dance and Drama. In 2002, she graduated in Hispanic Philology, also in her home town.

In 1998, the Spanish Ministry of Culture granted her a scholarship to study dance in Krasnodar, Russia, with mentors from the Bolshoi. In 2000, she obtained another scholarship from the Alicia Alonso University Institute of Dance in Madrid. In 2003, she obtained the Secondary Grade in Dance from the Madrid Conservatory of Dance, under the supervision of Virginia Valero.
In 2002, she joined the Ballet Company of the Städtischen Theather de Chemnitz, Germany, under the supervision of Törsten Händler. In 2004, she joined the Tanz Woche Project in Dresden, under the supervision of Michael Rischmann and, in 2005, Introdans, in the Netherlands.
Between 2006 and 2007, she worked with  the Staatstheater Braunschweig, under the supervision of Henning Para and, in 2008, she joined the Wayne McGregor Random Dance. During this period, she took part in various research department projects, such as the CLA Coreographiclearningagent, based on improvisation using 3D software, and the CTT Coreographictthinking Tools, devoted to researching how to develop creativity through innovative thinking patterns. She also worked on Creative Learning Projects, that is, educational programmes for developing creativity and dance in young people and marginalized groups.
She joined the Spanish Compañia Nacional de Danza in September 2011, under the direction of José Carlos Martínez. Since then she has danced in ballets by renowned choreographers such as Mats Ek, Jirí Kylian, Johan Inger, Ohad Naharin, Tony Fabre, Marcos Morau, Alejandro Cerrudo y Goyo Montero, among others.  

As a choreographer herself, in collaboration with Lucio Vidal, she has created for CND Passing Time.

She has also collaborated with the educational program of CND
