Repertoire
Carmen replay
* Co-production by the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Compañía Nacional de Danza, within the setting of the Pedagogical Project by that theatre.
David del Puerto: “Composing for the adolescent public the work is first intended for is, of course, an initiatory ordeal. I have attempted to meet the standards by creating music full of doorways for today’s adolescents and I hope to have left the key in each of them so they are not difficult to enter.
- World premiere by: Compañía Nacional de Danza 2 (CND2) at Auditorio Padre Soler of the Universidad Carlos III Leganés, Madrid (Spain), 13th of May 2010
The work provides a tour of approximately an hour through the main episodes and scenes of the libretto by Meilhac and Halévy for Bizet and is composed for my trio Rejoice!”
Tony Fabre: “Carmen replay is a narrative work. Both the dancers and I have adapted to a different way of working from that we are normally used to. I have had to stick to a storyline and ensure that it was perfectly understood through movement. It has been an interesting, while difficult process and that is always, at least, enrichening”.
