Isadora
French choreographer Maurice Béjart composed the ballet Isadora at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow on the centenary of the birth of the American dancer, Isadora Duncan. By then, the name and work of the "great barefoot" (a nickname that Duncan had received from his contemporaries) were practically a myth. Its premiere with Maya Plisetskaya, who recreated the style and spirit of free dance that Duncan had conceived, was a great success.
