Iván was born in Madrid where he graduated at the 'Mariemma' Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza. He also obtained a diploma in Marketing and Commerce at the I.E.S. Jaime Ferran.
He worked in operas such as Falstaff and Celos aún del Aire Matan in Madrid’s Teatro Real.
In 2004 he won third prize in the Torrelavega dance competition. In 2005 he worked as Soloist in the ballet Blancanieves (Snow White), produced by Ricardo Cué, with Tamara Rojo as the principal dancer. In 2006 he joined the English National Ballet. In 2007 he moved to the Gran Canaria Ballet under Anatol Yanowsky´s direction.
In 2008 he entered the Corella Ballet working with choreographers such as Clark Tippet, Stanton Welch, Natalia Makarova and Christopher Wheeldon.
In June 2011 he signed up with the Teatro alla Scala of Milan, leaving in September 2012 to join the Compañía Nacional de Danza, under José Carlos Martínez´s direction where he remains with Muriel Romero as artistic director. With the CND he has participated in the choreographies Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Sonatas and Raymonda Divertimento by José Carlos Martínez, Allegro Brilliant by George Balanchine, Pulcinella by Blanca Li or The Sylphide by August Bournonville.
