Violeta Gastón Faci

Ballet master

Born in Zaragoza, she began dancing at the age of 7 in the Dance Studio of María de Ávila, where she did all her training until she started her professional career. In addition, she obtained an honorary degree from the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Madrid. With the Joven Ballet de María de Ávila she performed the two-steps of El Corsario, Grand pas Classique and the role of Nikiya in the third act of Bayadere.

In 1992 she joined the Royal Ballet of London, under the direction of Anthony Dowell, where she had the opportunity to dance the repertoire of the British company, including works by choreographers Ashton and MacMillan, as well as the main classical works. He was also part of the cast of new creations, such as those of choreographers David Bintley, Ashley Page and William Tuckett.

In 2001 she joined the Rome Opera Ballet, under the direction of Carla Fracci, where she performed numerous soloist roles. Throughout her career she has performed in prestigious international theaters, such as the Metropolitan in New York, the Bolshoi Piccolo and the Kremlin Theater in Moscow, the Champs Elysees Theater in Paris, the Massimo Bellini in Catania and the Frankfurt Opera, among others. She has also had the opportunity to work and study with renowned masters such as Lola de Avila, Susan Burnett, Ana Baselga, Gloria Mandelik, Luc Bouy, Galina Samsova, Sulamith Messerer, Violette Verdy, Alexander Agadzhanov and Elizabeth Anderton, among others. Her repertoire includes Sleeping Beauty (Fairies Eloquence and Temperament, Ruby Jewel), Swan Lake (Hungarian Princess and soloist Spanish Dance), Cinderella (Fairy Autumn), Nutcracker, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet by Cranko and MacMillan, La Sylphide, The Rite of Spring by Nijinsky, Mayerling by MacMillan, The Dream and Cinderella by Ashton, Symphony in C and Imperial Ballet by Balanchine, Firebird by Fokine, among others.

Since 2008 she works as a teacher at the Professional Dance Conservatories of Madrid: first at the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory Mariemma, then at the Professional Dance Conservatory Carmen Amaya and since 2010 at the Professional Dance Conservatory Fortea.

In addition to her dance training, she also has a degree in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and obtained an Erasmus scholarship to study at the Universidad degli Studi in Florence.
