The CND al the University
Collaboration project between the CND and the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M)
We are CND, as a social project of the National Dance Company, whose objectives are to bring dance closer to the different groups of society, through training activities and creative projects. On this occasion, the CND joins the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) to build artistic research spaces with a didactic and interdisciplinary nature.
Through this collaboration with UC3M, we promote dance as a tool for comprehensive well-being, offering students a unique experience of reconnecting with the body. Dance as expression, connection with oneself and with others, promoting physical, emotional and community well-being. We also approach new audiences for dance, getting closer to the university community, inviting students to explore and appreciate this discipline as part of their comprehensive training.
Actions
- Choreographic creation workshops: For 8 weeks, different groups of CND dancers who are already working on their own creations will share their creative processes with the university community. Through group dynamics and movement explorations, the group of students will be guided by the poetics of each group of dancers. After two more weeks, the group will begin to integrate all the sessions and select materials, to create their own dance piece.
- Sample of the stage work in the UC3M Auditorium with the dancers of the CND and colloquium, in which the students participating in the project, dancers and university public, can talk and ask questions about the creative process, their concerns, what they experienced and meaning and their way of understanding dance after the experience.
