Creative Residencies
2015/2016
In order to impulse choreographic creations the Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND) summoned its annual edition of "choreographers in residence” which intended to be a frame work for emerging choreographers and/or companies. This initiative allows the creation of new choreographic projects by young talents with the CND collaboration, which provides resources to develop its progress. A large number of applications were selected this season.

VENERE
SINOPSIS:
Choreographic creation for 6 performers that travels to love and its disorders. The hardness in the rhythm, the attack and its necessity. The states and contradictions of affect. VENERE (read with an accent on the first “E”) is an Italian word that means Venus, and encompasses not only the idea of the goddess, but also that of the planet, played with that idea that goes from symbol to matter. How one loves and is loved through others. Talk about affection from all the ideas of the matter. The muscular contradiction and each symbol. And above all, it is about responding metaphorically to the question of what have I done to belong, to be?

HORIZONTES
CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Tejido Conectivo is a platform that was born in 2010 under the direction of Miguel Ángel Punzano and is dedicated to the research of movement, the training and dissemination of dance and the performing arts. This work is carried out under a framework of collaboration, promoting and promoting exchange between artists, teachers, disciplines and cultures, oriented towards the creation of networks, based on cooperation and collaboration between people and groups.HORIZONS
Horizons is a research project aimed at exploring the movement of the center between those two places, between the ground and the sky. An exploration of the movement and displacement of the center in space, horizontally and vertically, experiencing movement from the fall, using the force of gravity to generate inertia and displacement, both when going down and going up. The idea is to approach the work from the management of the center that is done in martial arts or in certain sports, to delve into the ways of entering and leaving the ground, of projecting and flying the center in space and of transporting it to new horizons.
Horizontes is the continuation of a research process called “Traveling” carried out throughout 2015, which is still ongoing and will continue during the month of August with a residency that will take place in Cáceres. -
KOR'SIA
KOR’SIA is a company created by four young artists: Giuseppe Dagostino, Antonio de Rosa, Diego Tortelli and Mattia Russo. Kor’sia was born from the need to communicate, to become visible as creators and performers. There is an urgency in them to use a language, that of the body, that words cannot express. And the primacy of risk as an asset in the contemporary dance scene, which incorporates cinema, photography, literature and sculpture as references for its new forms of expression. Within a reality of which we are aware in a fragmented way, subdivided into measures of silence and sound, movement and stillness, the silence of life is what moves the path of the four components of Kor’sia and professional exchange is what that unites them. Kor’sia has emerged after a path that began in 2012, with excellent results, which has led them to the point of deepening a deep professional commitment: the creation of their own company.

Artistas Inflamables
Archipiélago
Artistas Infamables is a group of artists from various countries and from various performing areas. In ‘Archipelago’ three performers participate who, through the use of movement, words and music, follow the steps of the walker in “Winterrreise” (Winter Journey), a poem by Wilhelm Müller.
In the words of Müller himself: “Since the time of Homer everything is a journey (The Odyssey) or everything is war (The Iliad) – nothing seems to be able to escape this golden rule. Since then we have contemplated life as a journey and as war. From alternate or fused way, the path of our existence is built on these two models. Like a stranger I arrived and like a stranger I leave… For my journey I cannot choose the moment, I must find my path in the darkness.” -

Dimo Kirilov
Entre mareas
Rehearsals for the revival of the choreography Entre Mareas with Dimo Kirilov and Tamako Akiyama.
The project is a reflection on human relationships and behavior patterns on a small scale, such as in couples who have been together for a long time. It is about evolution, transformation, disappearance and also the appearance of new feelings. About interdependence, the feeling of being almost… one, with both its negative and positive aspects.
It is about the degree of honesty, the little secrets and lies within the couple and also in each other. About how one wanted to be and how one is now, about the desire to do everything again in a different way or repeat what was…
About old age and death, the fear of being alone or the desire to leave together…. About a type of lifelong relationship that was the norm for so long and is increasingly rare today. About necessity or obligation… -
