Born in Santander (Spain), Ana Calderon Lemes received her training from the Royal Conservatory of Professional Dance Mariemma of Madrid. In 2004 she was awarded the grand prize from the Princess Grace Foundation of Monaco. Ana joined Pennsylvania Ballet in 2015 and has performed both principal and featured roles in ballets from Marius Petipa, Christopher Wheeldon, Nacho Duato, Jorma Elo, Hans van Manen and George Balanchine among others.

Prior to Pennsylvania Ballet, Ana danced in Europa Dance 2005 and with Zurich Ballet in Switzerland under the direction of Heinz Spoerli. In 2007, she performed with Angel Corella and Friends before joining Angel Corella’s Barcelona Ballet, where she was promoted to soloist in 2010. In 2013, Ana joined Houston Ballet under the direction of Stanton Welch and danced featured roles in ballets by Ben Stevenson, Trey McIntyre, and George Balanchine.

In September 2019 she joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza as a Soloist, under the artistic direction of Joaquín De Luz.
