CND Estudio Abierto
Choreographic workshops
Within the framework of the social program Somos CND, the Compañía Nacional de Danza offers dance professionals and non-professionals a unique opportunity to get into this art through workshops taught by our dancers, repeaters and teachers.
The ‘Estudio abierto 2025’ workshops -free but with limited capacity- are held at the Company's headquarters (Paseo de la Chopera 4, Madrid), one Sunday a month, in the morning and with a duration of two hours.
ALL WORKSHOPS ARE SOLD OUT
Estudio Abierto 2025 program consists of six workshops aimed at the general public of various age groups and two aimed at dance professionals or pre-professionals:
Workshops for professionals:
Exploring qualities of movement, with Shlomi Shlomo Miara (soloist dancer CND)
Sunday May 11, from 10h to 12h.
Aimed at professional dancers or dancers in their final years of training.
This workshop combines improvisation – to experience movement qualities and discover how to apply them in different ways – and repertoire, through learning an excerpt from a piece created by Miara Mijaela himself.
The ballet class, the holistic experience of the dancer, with Niccolò Balossini (CND dancer)
Sunday, June 8, from 10 am to 12 noon.
Aimed at classical dance students of professional conservatories and pre-professional dancers from 12 years old.
Ballet class focused on the incorporation to the professional world.
Workshops for non-professionals:
Instinctive movement, with Elisabet Biosca (soloist dancer CND)
Sunday, January 26, from 10h to 12h.
Aimed at people with no dance experience from 14 years old.
The objective is to connect with the tribal rhythm, the natural impulse that each one of us has and that in turn connects us with the other members of the group. It is about connecting with our more earthly side, looking for the essence of each one of us and in communication with the group.
It will be developed in four phases: elastic ropes, groove or internal rhythm, energy/emotion and play.
Dance and clay, with Marcos Montes (CND dancer and ceramist)
Sunday, February 9, from 10h to 12h.
Aimed at people with no experience in dance or ceramics from 14 years old.
The workshop aims to promote the knowledge and exploration of body movement, using improvisation tools guided by the language of dance and fused with ceramics. We will delve into the improvisation of movement and the creation of ceramic figures inspired by the forms and sensations that arise from that same improvised movement.
You, the music, the space, with Catalina Arteaga (CND repetition teacher) and Ana Calderón (CND soloist dancer)
Sunday, March 9, from 10 am to 12 pm.
Aimed at people with no dance experience from 14 years old.
An experience of the development of body movement in relation to the space and the people around us. We will use different styles of music and rhythms.
We will see where all this takes us and we will end up… dancing!
Classical dance, its history through the body, with Celia Dávila (CND dancer)
Sunday, April 13, from 10 am to 11 am.
Aimed at children with or without dance experience from 6 to 10 years old.
A workshop dedicated to the study of the history of some of the most emblematic ballets of the classical dance repertoire. Through the analysis of their plot and music, participants will learn the most iconic steps of these works.
Discovering spring, with María Muñoz (CND dancer)
Sunday, April 13, from 12h to 13h.
Aimed at children from 2 to 5 years old accompanied by an adult.
Through dance and movement, we will connect with the rhythms, senses, images and elements that spring brings us. We will use our body as the main element to project and explore the different qualities of movement, discovering the multiple physical and expressive possibilities. In addition, the activity will be done with an adult with whom we can share, bond and enjoy this experience.
The awakening of the senses, with Eva Pérez (CND teacher)
Sunday, July 6, from 10 am to 12 pm.
Aimed at people with no dance experience from 14 years old.
‘The awakening of the senses’ is the name given to the first exercise of the movement system called Gyrokinesis, a method created by the dancer Juliu Horvath in which the natural, organic and expressive movement of the body takes precedence. All movements will be executed with fluidity, respecting the joints and their limits.
The breathing work is specific and rhythmic, leading to a state of well-being, vitality and mental relaxation.
