8th Edition

From the CND Educa area of the National Dance Company, which seeks to promote the choreographic creation of young artists, the CND convenes annually its “Creation Residencies” aimed at choreographers and / or emerging companies, this year celebrating its 8th edition, since they were created in 2014.

These projects aim to bring CND and the art of dance closer to our community, showing how dance favors the integral development of the person in the different stages of life and in the most diverse situations.

This initiative is allowing the creation of new choreographic projects of young talents with the close collaboration of the CND, which provides them with resources to facilitate their development.

Do you have a choreographic project?
Send us your application from September 15 to 30 for the selection process of the projects. And be part of the 8th Edition of Residencias de Creación.

Meet our dancers: Ayuka Nitta

Ayuka Nitta is a dancer of Japanese origin who began her career at the age of ten. She has worked at the National Silesian Theatre (Czech Republic) and at the Greek National Opera Ballet, where she participated in Nacho Duato's Herrumbre. Ayuka is also one of the latest additions to the Compañía Nacional de Danza. She joined the CND last year under the artistic direction of Joaquín De Luz.  A lover of Spanish food, her daily life is marked by her intense work and her progressive adaptation to Spanish customs and routine.

We celebrate International Dance Day at Carlos III University

International Dance Day has been celebrated on April 29 since it was established by UNESCO in 1982, at the initiative of the International Dance Committee. This date commemorates the birth (in 1727) of Jean-Georges Noverre, dancer and teacher considered the creator of modern ballet.

Dancing with the Dragon

On Saturday, October 21, the CND and Crossborder Project will hold the “Dancing with the Dragon” workshop in the Pacific Room of the Real Teatro del Retiro within the framework of the “Aprendanza23” project.
