The Compañía Nacional de Danza opened 2020's Veranos de la Villa

The Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND) premiered in Madrid a very special program, dedicated to the sanitary personnel, to open the 2020 edition of Veranos de la Villa this past 29th of July. The festival, organized by Madrid’s City Hall, wanted to arise the value of the city as a cultural stage and meeting point for creator from all around the world. The CND, without a doubt, is one of those meeting spaces.
Under Joaquín De Luz’s direction, the CND presents a program with four distinctive pieces: Flower Festival in Genzano, an emblematic piece by Bournonville, grand ballet renovator; Love Fear Loss, by Ricardo Amarante, inspired by the life and work of Edith Piaf; A Suite of Dances, by Jerome Robbins, with the return of Joaquín De Luz to the stage in Madrid; and Arriaga by Mar Aguiló, Pino Alosa and Joaquín De Luz, a choreographic work inspired by Crisístomo Arriaga’s music (1806-1826), young basque music prodigy.
