In this one, his third choreography for Compañía Nacional de Danza 2, he’s left to go for Kevin Volans and Kronos Quartet. According to Volans, the difference between the European music and the African one it’s not in the culture. It takes root in the environment: the landscapes, the singing of the birds... White Man Sleeps impregnates the stage of a certain ethnic and tribal environment, without giving the back to the base of the classic language.

Kevin Volans' music, Irish composer born in South Africa, has been used by numerous companies of ballet of the whole world. White Man Sleeps was included in the Compact Disc of Kronos Quartet, Pieces of Africa, which was converted into the second classic CD most sold in USA in 1993. From they creation in 1973, Kronos Quartet are known by they artistic vision and bold dedication to the musical experimentation.
