Clara Maroto was born in Tarragona city, where she began her dance studies at the age of 9. At 12, she moved to Madrid to join the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma, where she remained for the following five years.
In 2013 she was awarded first place in her category in the dance contest III Certamen Internacional de Dansa Ciutat de Barcelona.
That same year she concluded her conservatory studies, coming top of her group.
She joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza of Spain in September of 2013, under José Carlos Martínez’s direction.
Since then, she has danced the role of Mercedes in Don Quixote Suite, by José Carlos Martínez. She has also taken part in the casts of Raymonda Vartiations and Sonatas, by José Carlos Martínez, Allegro Brillante, by George Balanchine, Minus 16, by Ohad Naharin and Holberg Suite, by Tony Fabre, among others.
